As of April 11th, 2017, support for Windows Vista has ended.

When Microsoft Vista was released in 2007 it was long anticipated and many hoped it would be a step up from the very popular and at that time widely used Windows XP. Unfortunately it immediately failed with people quickly returning to the XP version. The popularity difference can be seen even today in figures released in March of this year by NetMarketShare which stated that currently less than 1% of machines are using Microsoft Vista whereas over 7% of machines are still running the older Windows XP version.

If you have one of these 0.72% of machines still running Windows Vista then now many be the time to consider an upgrade. Your machine will still run and function as before however you will no longer receive any security updates which will make your machines more susceptible to viruses and other cyber threats.

When upgrading your machine you will can decided whether you wish to upgrade to Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 with 7 and 10 being the most popular choices. If your machine it old it may very well not be compatible with Windows 10 so please do check that before making the purchase.
